This event will showcase the results of the action “Generation of High-Resolution Climate Change Scenarios for Central America”, implemented by FIAP and AEMET under the EUROCLIMA programme. The initiative, led by Spain within the European climate policy framework, strengthens institutional and scientific capacities for climate planning and adaptation in Central America and sets the foundations for regional collaboration with South America. Additionally, islands are specially vulnerable on adaptation and the Macaronesia region shows one example of how climate science could be applied for better climate planning. The discussion will highlight Spain’s value added in linking science, diplomacy, and cooperation, and its strategic contribution to the EU’s external action climate agenda. The event will connect ongoing experiences in America and other regions with the objectives of COP30, reinforcing Spain’s role as a trusted partner bridging regions through climate knowledge.
