Particularly noteworthy are the impacts on agriculture and livestock farming, activities closely linked to climate and with a significant impact on employment and the rural economy.

Mosquito Alert, a 360º citizen science observatory

Mosquito Alert is a non-profit, cooperative citizen science project, coordinated by various public research centres. The goal is to study, monitor, and combat the spread of invasive mosquitoes that can transmit global diseases such as dengue, Zika, and West Nile fever. Mosquito Alert monitors several invasive mosquito species, including the tiger mosquito and the yellow fever mosquito.

The Tablas de Daimiel is a virtually unique wetland in Europe and the last representative of the ecosystem known as 'river tables,' once characteristic of the central plain of our Peninsula. It is a complex ecosystem that combines the characteristics of a floodplain, created by the overflows of the Guadiana and Gigüela rivers at their confluence, with an area of groundwater discharge from a large aquifer, resulting in the formation of a waterlogged river area: the river tables.

The objective of the Pteridum project was to analyze the economic viability of controlling common fern populations (Pteridium aquilinum) in a circular economy system adapted to climate change in the Cantabrian Mountains, and reducing forest fires caused or favored by their presence by controlling their expansion in an environmentally respectful way.

Hydrologic connection and habitat improvement in the meanders of the lower course of the Arga River (Navarra)

Until the 1970s, the lower section of the Arga River, near its confluence with the Aragón, meandered through a wide floodplain, with intense fluvial dynamics. At the time, it was deemed necessary to carry out works to contain the river's floods, leading to its rectification and channelling in the section from the town of Falces to the mouth of the Aragón River.
