Date: Nov 19 2025

Time: 18:30 - 19:30

This event will look at the dynamics of the Paris Agreement’s ambition mechanisms, with an emphasis on how science and international diplomacy can catalyse action.

Specifically, it will look at the role of national scientific bodies, or other scientific advisors in key countries, such as Brazil, India, France and the European Union.

The event aims to foster dialogue and comparison between the concrete experiences of these scientific institutions and their approaches to diplomacy. This will be linked to the theory of change underlying the Paris Agreement and its ambition mechanism, of upgrading NDCs every five years in light of equity and the best available science, in the context of a widely recognized lack of collective ambition.
