"Arga, the channel that became a river again." Discover in this video the most important river restoration project being carried out in Spain. It is an innovative project to improve and reconnect meanders that will restore the channelized Arga to near-natural conditions. This pilot experience addresses two key objectives: reducing the flood risk in the urban area of Funes (which involves decreasing flow velocity and erosion) and renaturalizing the confluence of the Arga and Aragón rivers, allowing it to shape its surroundings according to its needs. The project is part of the Environment Promotion Plan for Climate Change Adaptation in Spain (PIMA-Adapta), the National River Restoration Strategy, and the Ebro Basin Flood Risk Management Plan (PGRIEbro).
