This event will provide an in-depth assessment of the state of global corporate and financial net zero policy developments.
Objectives:
- Presentation of the Report handed to the UN Secretary General: Net Zero Policy Matters. A year after the launch of the Taskforce on Net Zero Policy, this event will showcase the findings from the report Net Zero Policy Matters.
- Analysis of Advances and Challenges in Policy Development: Members of the Board and the Taskforce will discuss the progress and challenges in policy development aimed at ensuring credibility and accountability for 1.5ºC-aligned net zero commitments by non-state actors. This analysis will align with the ten recommendations from the UN High-Level Expert Group (HLEG) report, Integrity Matters.
- Policy Case Studies from Various Regions and Instruments: to delve into case studies that explore different types of policies and instruments across diverse geographies, highlighting real-world examples of net zero policy implementation.
