Climate and Climate Change Scenarios OLD
Accurate knowledge of current climate conditions and estimations of future climate are essential elements to conduct impact assessments and vulnerability in sensitive sectors to climate change, and thus to identify adaptation measures.
The regionalized climate change scenarios are projections of future climate on a geographical region or territory, made with most accurate spatial resolution in accordance with the scientific-technical capacity and sectorial planning scale.
In Spain there are many active research groups generating regionalized climate change scenarios. The National Meteorological Agency (AEMET) is the institution which, under the National Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change (PNACC) coordinates efforts in this area to join forces and results to provide a unified collection of climate change scenarios for Spain.
